ABOUT US

Hi! I’m Karen Sperling and I wrote the original Corel Painter manuals when the software debuted in 1991. Not long after that, I started painting with Adobe Photoshop. I have been painting digital art and teaching how to do it ever since.

I have been painting commissioned paintings for decades and I have exhibited my art in New York and during Art Basel Miami Beach and my paintings are held in private collections internationally.

I have taught how to turn photos into paintings for decades, everywhere from Imaging USA and WPPI to PPA affiliates, including the class pictured at right from M.A.R.S., in addition to my in-person Artistry Retreats. And I have been creating instructional materials as long, including my Artistry videos and webinars and my Painting for Photographers books.
